Amidst a global pandemic, political division and the stress of the holidays, maintaining an attitude of gratitude is more challenging than ever. However, a feeling of thankfulness is essential to mitigating depression, personal empowerment and inner peace. Basically, the more adept we are at processing negative feelings and moving into gratitude, the faster we can shift our mood and energy.
Pleasure is worthy of gratitude
No matter what is going on in the world, or in our personal lives, we all have the ability to feel pleasure and this is worthy of gratitude.
What are you grateful for?
Whether you swoon for a hot bubble bath or shower, the way your dog greets you when you get home from a long day, how a spoonful of ice cream tastes on your tongue, hot coffee on a cold morning, the touch of someone you love, sexual responses to friction on an erogenous zone, an arousing movie, or sleeping in on Sunday, the feeling of pleasure is something we all enjoy, and something we can all be grateful for.
So the next time the world has you upside down, think of your pleasure receptors and dive into an activity that will lift your spirits.
